Find out more on how to request a birth, death, or marriage certificate. The DRC consulate provides information for transportation of deceased Congolese nationals residing in Lebanon as well as documents for persons marrying Congolese Nationals.

The following requirements must be fulfilled in order for the consulate to authorize the repatriation to the DRC of the remains of a Congolese National who has died in Lebanon:

• Proof that the deceased person is a Congolese citizen (e.g. Passport copy or Birth Certificate)
• A certified copy of the Death Certificate.
• A letter from a local health authority certifying that the deceased did not die of a contagious disease.
• A metal hermetically-sealable casket.
• A letter stating how the body was embalmed, typically signed by the directory of a funeral home or counterpart at another institution.
• A self-addressed prepaid envelope (size A4) for the return of the documents, using a service with tracking such as FedEx or UPS.

Upon receipt of the above documents, the Consulate will issue the permit for the remains to be transported to D.R. Congo.
